Updated site offers resources for October’s bicentenary celebrations

In fall 2017, Baha’is celebrated the 200th anniversary of the birth of Baha’u’llah, Prophet-Founder of the Baha’i Faith, as part of a two-year Light of Unity Festival leading to the bicentenary of the birth of the Bab, the Herald of the Faith, on Oct. 29, 2019.

To assist Baha’i communities that are now arranging celebrations of this fall’s anniversaries, the Bicentenary Resources website has been updated and relaunched.

Many local communities had relied on the site in their preparations for the 2017 bicentenary. Featuring guidance on the spirit of this special occasion and answers to frequently asked questions, the site also has links to media and arts resources.

Throughout the spring and summer, it will be regularly updated with stories from communities with creative plans to commemorate this historic occasion in ways that reinforce and advance community-building efforts underway in localities everywhere.

Communities and individuals are invited to share their plans and ideas through a “How are you celebrating?” form on the front page of the site.
