Lakewood honors the bicentenary

Lakewood, California, celebrated the bicentenary of the Birth of the Bab. The mayor, the vice mayor and a City Council member attended the celebration, showing heartfelt joy. Pointing to a poster that sets out 12 principles of the Baha’i teachings, they said everyone should follow these principles.

Each guest attached a flower to a banner-style poster, which was taken to a park for a children’s class focusing on the Bab. A chant of “O God, my God, my Beloved, my heart’s desire” was called out as Baha’is from Cerritos, California, planted a tree in the Heritage Park in honor of the bicentenary.
